About me
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel like a big decision. Then, when faced with so many therapists and different approaches, it can feel daunting all over again. If that’s where you find yourself, you’re not alone.
At the heart of my work is the relationship we build together. I offer a warm, non-judgemental, and authentic space where I hope you will feel safe enough to be open and honest about your story and your feelings. From my own experience - both personal and professional - I believe it’s this genuine understanding and acceptance that create the conditions for real change.
My core approach is person-centred, meaning I aim to meet you where you are, valuing your unique experiences and perspectives. When it feels helpful, I may also draw on ideas and techniques from CBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and psychodynamic therapy. I see every person and every story as unique, so I work flexibly to find what best supports you.
I work with young adults through to older adults, supporting people with a wide range of issues including anxiety, low mood, stress, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, loss and bereavement, and life transitions. I’m open to exploring whatever you bring, and if I ever feel another therapist might be better placed to support you, I’ll be honest and help you find someone who fits your needs.
I offer in-person sessions at Modbury Therapy Centre - a warm, friendly, and stylish little sanctuary in the heart of Modbury - as well as online and telephone counselling for flexibility and accessibility. Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £65 in person or £55 online/telephone. I also have a limited number of lower-cost sessions available, so please feel free to ask if this would be helpful.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can talk through what’s bringing you to counselling, answer any questions, and see how we might work together.
If you’d like to get in touch, you can call or message me on 07411 545181, email, or visit www.unitycounselling.co.uk for more information.
I look forward to hearing from you.
