About me
Hello my name is Victoria and as a qualified accredited BACP counsellor I am experienced in supporting individuals who are struggling with feelings of low self esteem, loneliness, isolation and issues around intimacy. I support people from different backgrounds and cultures covering issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, work related problems, childhood/adult trauma and loss and bereavement. I understand how difficult life can be at times and how it might be easier to continue with the path of life you are on - or you could make that first step and seek support by contacting me.
I offer both short and long term counselling working from my private detached counselling room in Bexleyheath Kent DA7.
I offer a non-judgemental, empathic safe relationship and my approach is to support clients to understand how their current emotional and psychological difficulties may be unconscious and related to their past childhood experiences. I feel the unique relationship between us is of the utmost importance, this will allow you to feel safe, open up and share with me your issues and concerns.
I am a qualified EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Therapist.
EMDR is a recommended treatment (NICE 2008) for working with distress caused by traumatic memories. EMDR has also been used to work with a broader spectrum of issues ranging from anxiety (phobias, panic attacks etc,) to experiences such as grief, pain and depression.

I have undertaken training to support clients with alcohol and/or substance misuse issues and the related difficulties that may arise from their addiction.
During our initial meeting you will have an opportunity to ask questions, explore whether we can develop a working relationship and if you feel comfortable and safe to share with me.

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
