Dr Victoria Crooks
233 Tamworth Road
I am a trained and accredited doctor within the field of Clinical Psychology. I have been providing therapy and psychological interventions in a a clinical setting for the past 20 years. I currently have my own private practice but also work as the Lead Psychologist in an inpatient unit. During this time I have worked with individuals to help them to alleviate distress, develop an increased understanding and awareness of themselves and to lead a more meaningful life. Additionally, l am a visiting lecturer on the local Clinical Psychology Doctorate courses and supervise/manage more junior members of staff.
I aim to provide a confidential, professional and welcoming service founded upon my knowledge that has been accumulated from my specialist training and my skills that are drawn from my experience of providing therapy for the last 20 years. This is paired with providing a non-judgemental, containing environment where trust and compassion can be valued and developed. Seeking support and guidance is a common part of being human and is sometimes needed to overcome difficulties. Whether the purpose of therapy is learning more about yourself and your circumstances through personal discovery, gaining strategies to help with change or a different intention entirely, we can work collaboratively towards providing and experiencing wellbeing.
I also provide sessions of EMDR for those who may be struggling with trauma, childhood abuse, PTSD and other anxiety disorders. This is a very specific approach which is evidence based to support its use with these particular difficulties.
My service is located in private, discrete rooms in Sutton Coldfield. There is ample free parking.
I am fully insured, a member of my professional body (HCPC) and receive regular supervision for my practice.
