About me

Hi I'm Vic a qualified integrative counsellor. I'm not going to sit behind a professional persona - I'll be me; and you be you. No pretence, no script, no expectation.

I believe counselling is a relationship, and being genuine helps us build trust.

Everyone's experience is their own. You don't need a diagnosis, label or particular reason to come to counselling. If it matters to you then it matters to me.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on many resources to meet you where you are.  You may feel you don't need on going counselling and that's OK, if one session is all you need that is ok too.

I have experience with supporting people through the challenges that life throws at us, from anxiety, depression, bereavement or loss, major life transitions, changes in health or independence, loneliness or isolation, caring for loved ones, retirement or loss of purpose, feeling overwhelmed with life's changes, simply needing someone to listen, dealing with pain and parenting a child or adult with SEN.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I offer a free 15 min introductory call. We can discuss any questions you may have about counselling or the way I work. I will call at a mutually agreed time.

I work with older adults, people living with chronic pain. I support parents and carers with children or adults with a registered learning disability. As a parent of an autistic adult with a learning disability I understand that caring for someone with additional needs can bring a whole range of thoughts and feelings of your own. Sometimes you need a space where you can talk openly and honestly about your experiences without feeling judged.

I see you as a whole person, not just what you're going through. Your thoughts, feelings, body and life experiences are all part of your story.
