About me
When we are living with the scars of a past experience, are in difficult times or in a dark space, it’s hard to share with others our true fears, thoughts and feelings or to know what to do for the best - it can feel overwhelming.
As a fully qualified and insured counsellor, I provide a safe and confidential space where you can express yourself without fear of judgement and knowing that you will be heard, understood and supported.
Areas which I have particular expertise are: stress and anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, anger, depression, bereavement and life-limiting illnesses.
I have also worked with children and young people to support them with issues such as; family breakdown, self-esteem, self-harm, O.C.D, domestic abuse, family addiction, foster care, autism and ADHD.
Together with my empathy and our mutual trust and honesty, we will create a warm but professional relationship in which you will feel safe and supported in your journey. We will work together, at your pace to work towards you achieving your goals or finding improved mental and emotional health and inner peace. I won’t have the answer for you, but our discussions and exploration will highlight what feels right.
Counselling can help you find ‘you’ again if you’re feeling lost and don’t recognise yourself, it can help to realise your value and strengths and rebuild confidence. It can help to find clarity in a situation, heal previous trauma or bereavement and strengthen mental and emotional resilience - especially if you suffer from anxiety, low mood or depression. It can help to rediscover the confidence and belief within yourself to trust your judgement, this can be empowering.
I am an Integrative counsellor with a Person-Centred focus, using CBT and creative tools in our work as well as using Mindfulness to create an inner sense of calm, these tools can be used any time going forward when needed for self regulation and relaxation.
If you would like to speak to me, ask any questions and for me to understand what brings you to counselling, I offer a no-cost 30 minute assessment session over the phone. It is a good opportunity to break the ice and for you to decide whether you would like to move forward with me.
From then, each session is 50 minutes and can be face-to-face in my home in Horley, on-line via Zoom or on the phone. We can work on a short-term, goal focused or long-term basis.
I understand that accessibilty can be an issue, so I am happy to home visit depending on the location and that your confidentiality of our conversation while we are together can be protected.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
