About me

I am an integrative counsellor, guided by curiosity and compassion, offering a safe space where healing, insight, self-acceptance, resilience and personal - growth become possible

After 15 years of experience working in mental health, I have seen many ways the mind can cause trouble and am committed to finding solutions that work in the long term.

I have supported people through complex, ongoing grief, addiction, suicidal thoughts and impulses, self-harm, paranoia, pervasive feelings of low-self -worth/low self- esteem, eating disorders, trauma related suffering (PTSD and Complex PTSD) and panic attacks.

If your thoughts are negative and self-deprecating and you feel stressed out, defeated, anxious or overwhelmed, it could well be time to feel better supported in finding relief!

Working on a level of the body might be what’s needed, exploring how the body is feeling and releasing tension, trauma and stress through the body. Breath work and movement are possible options on this level.

Working on the level of mind might be called for, identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and replacing them with more realistic and less self-critical ones. CBT and mindfulness practices might help calm you and navigate racing or intrusive thoughts. Giving voice to different ‘mind loops’ and parts of yourself, can leave you feeling less broken and more whole.

I also work on the level of transcendence, using guided meditation/visualisation. This level is helpful if you are searching for meaning or find yourself in a crisis which doesn't feel resolvable on the previous two levels.

A combination of all three levels could be what’s most beneficial.

Everyone is different and you are the expert on you.

I have experience in working with both young people (12 +) and welcome young people and adults alike.

As well as face to face psychotherapy, I currently offer online counselling through a new, innovative Counselling app called Spill, meaning I have transferable skills. There are other ways we can work together if face to face counselling isn’t for you or is harder to fit in.

......................................................................................................................................

There are reasons why you feel stuck in the patterns that hurt, rather than heal you and there are ways of relating to these patterns that can really help. You no longer have to 'white knuckle' it alone.
