About me
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with an enthusiasm for parts work. I am trained in the Internal Family Systems Model (IFS), which offers an effective and evidenced based approach, helping you to connect with lost or frozen parts of yourself that need connection and integration. If you feel burdened, out of control, dissociated, anxious, shameful or depressed, parts work can be a wonderful way of bringing relief and balance to your system.
The myth of being a singular, unified mind is currently being updated by the reality of multiplicity. We have sub-personalities and they are often conflicted! For example one part of you may be looking forward to starting therapy, whilst another part of you feels less sure, nervous even. Both parts are valid. Both have their unique point of view.
When suffering or struggling in some way, clarity and love for ourselves and others can feel so elusive! Like clouds in front of the sun, parts of us seem to eclipse the light in us. As the clouds clear, you can re-discover the self in you that is always shining.
As your guide I can help you deeply listen to what's been hiding under the surface. Looking for therapy is an indication that parts of you are ready to let go or transform difficult feelings, beliefs and behavioural patterns. This frees up energy, allowing you to do more of the things that reflect who you really are, or who you want to become.
I aim to create a safe and sensitive holding space where honest exploration can happen. I emphasise being kind, open and curious together. All parts are welcome as there are no bad parts!
I am trained in other modalities too. I will happily attune to the pace and practices your system needs the most. Movement, mindfulness, inquiry, depth psychology and person-centred talk therapy are interwoven.
I hope you'll find a non-judgmental, gentleness in my approach and quickly find ease and safety. You can then attend to the healing your system is waiting for.
