Veronique Christie "Talk In Confidence"
During this global Covid-19 pandemic we have been forced to stay at home, either alone or in isolation or with our partners and family or without. Many of us have been required to work from home and in a way we have never been asked to do before. The impact on people's sense of being has been affected. The transition into lockdown was a difficult road to navigate for us all and now we are facing the new and challenging transition of being asked to begin the tentative and often difficult way out.
Are you experiencing feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem at this challenging time? Are you feeling ever more isolated and alone? Are you navigating the break down of a relationship or are you suffering a bereavement? Have you reached a crisis point and not sure where to turn to for help?
One to one counselling from a trained therapist can help to begin to make sense of these new and unchartered feelings.
My name is Veronique Christie, I am a qualified and a BACP registered practitioner currently working online. I offer an individual, therapeutic and confidential service that can help you navigate this demanding and challenging time.
My practice is based online until further notice I am happy to see clients from all cultures and backgrounds, young and older adults and I am happy to see clients from all backgrounds and cultures, younger and older adults.
These are some of the areas I work with amongst others.
- relationship problems
- low self-esteem
- Work-related issues
My approach is psychodynamic, a therapy which explores your experiences within a safe and supportive environment. Not all issues you may be currently experiencing may be Covid related. It is important to have someone to talk to whatever your situation. Together we can begin to explore and understand how challenging feelings or behaviours currently impact on your quality of life. Sessions start with two initial assessments where you can begin to talk about what brings you to seek out counselling at this time and how we can work together.
We will meet once weekly for 50 minutes. We can also clarify what time frame for therapy, long or short term feels right for you, although I do mainly work with clients on a long term basis as this is where I feel, that recovery from issues is the most beneficial.
I am BACP registered and adhere to the BACP's ethical framework and guidelines.
About how Counselling can work for you.
Counselling is a way for you to begin a journey of exploration. It can help you to express feelings and thoughts in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment that you may have felt unable to share with others.
Counselling can also help to identify any negative patterns of behaviour that may be impacting on your relationships and day to day life. Together we can work through issues and help you gain insight and the confidence to make changes.
I understand that making contact can feel daunting and confusing at first, but building a good relationship with your counsellor is the first step towards alleviating symptoms and overcoming problems that feel too overwhelming to manage on your own.
The first step in the journey is to find the right person to talk to, so if you need to talk with someone who is trained to listen with care, empathy and without judgement, then please do not hesitate to call or email me for an initial appointment and a brief chat about how I might be able to help. If I am unable to speak to you straight away I will always return your call or email at the soonest opportunity.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Don't feel that you have to suffer in silence. Talking through issues such as work related stress and the anxiety and depression can help you to make long term changes.

My private practice is based in counselling rooms in N4 where I rent rooms very close to Crouch Hill overground station, Finsbury Park tube station and many local bus routes. On street parking is also available in the surrounding area.
I know that finding the right counsellor can feel daunting so please do not hesitate to call or email me for a brief chat with any concerns or inquiries you may have about the service I offer.
I also offer sessions to new mothers who are finding the change to motherhood overwhelming. We can look at and work with the changes motherhood can bring. It can sometimes feel difficult to talk openly about feeling unable to cope. This is not only for new mothers but also for mums with young children whose spouses or partners work full time who feel isolated and lonely.
