About me

Are you experiencing feelings of stress, anxiety, depression or low self-esteem and wondering why life sometimes feels difficult to manage? Are you feeling isolated and alone? Have you reached crisis point or feeling stuck and not sure where to turn to for help? One to one counselling from a trained therapist can help to begin to make sense of your feelings.

My name is Veronique Christie, I am a qualified and a BACP registered practitioner based in North London. I offer an individual, therapeutic and confidential service that helps to identify issues, gain insight and build a path toward effective change.

My private practice is based in Crouch End and Finchley Central. I am happy to see clients from all cultures and backgrounds, young and older adults.

My approach is psychodynamic, a therapy which explores your experiences within a safe and supportive environment. Together we can begin to explore and understand how challenging feelings or behaviours currently impact on your quality of life. Sessions start with two initial assessments where you can begin to talk about what brings you to seek out counselling at this time and how we can work together.

We will meet once weekly for 50 minutes. We can also clarify what time frame for therapy, long or short term feels right for you.

I am BACP registered and adhere to the BACP's ethical framework and guidelines.

About how Counselling can work for you.

Counselling is a way for you to begin a journey of exploration. It can help you to express feelings and thoughts in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment that you may have felt unable to share with others.

Counselling can also help to identify any negative patterns of behaviour that may be impacting on your day to day life. Together we can work through issues and help you gain the confidence to make any changes.

I understand that making contact can feel daunting and a bit confusing at first, but building a good relationship with your counsellor is the first step towards alleviating symptoms and overcoming problems that feel too overwhelming to manage on your own.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and registered counsellor with certificates in counselling and a diploma in psychodynamic counselling. I work long term experience with clients on a variety of issues and I have experience in working with clients who suffer from the issues listed amongst others.

I worked on a voluntary basis with ICAP an organisation that was initially set up to help Irish Immigrants and have since expanded their work to reach out to immigrants and persons of all cultures and backgrounds needing counselling help.

I also have life experience working with artists and performers who suffer from performance-related stress and anxiety. And I can help to deal with writers block, stage anxiety. Having worked in media myself I understand the pressures, tight deadlines and the stress that can come with this fast paced environment And I can help talk through how to begin alleviating symptoms of stress that are beginning to impact on your day to day. Don't feel that you have to suffer in silence. Talking through issues such as work related stress and the anxiety and depression can help you to make long term changes.


All sessions including two initial assessments are 50 minutes. All sessions take place at the same time each week. I charge £55 - 65 per session. We will able to discuss the appropriate rate once an assessment has been booked.

I currently offer both daytime and have some evening appointments available. I also offer daytime Skype sessions which are proving helpful to those seeking out counselling who would prefer an online approach.

My private practice is based in counselling rooms in Haringay where I rent rooms very close to Hornsey overground station and many local bus routes. On and off street parking is also available. I also see clients from rooms in Finchely which is located within easy access of Finchley Central tube station. Off street parking is available nearby.
