About me

I  am an experienced Integrative Counsellor with over twenty years' experience working with adults from a wide range of backgrounds across various settings. I work in an integrative and flexible way, tailoring therapy to suit your individual needs, circumstances, and goals.

I support people experiencing a broad range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and bereavement. I have a particular specialism in working with trauma, loss, and anxiety-related issues. I offer a safe, caring, and confidential space where clients can explore life's challenges and the issues affecting their emotional well-being.

My approach is emphatic, collaborative, and client-centered. I work alongside you to help build understanding, resilience, and positive change at a pace that feels right for you. As an integrative practitioner, I am trained in a range of therapeutic theories and techniques, enabling me to adapt my approach to best support your individual needs.

I enjoy working creatively and find this can be a helpful way of exploring both internal and external experiences. This may include gaining insight into patterns of thinking, roles we take on in relationships, and the ways we have adapted to cope with difficult life experiences. Developing self-awareness can create opportunities for growth, change, and a renewed sense of hope.

I value supporting clients to better understand themselves and their relationships, explore emotions and life experiences, move away from unhelpful thought patterns or coping strategies, and develop new perspectives that are aligned with their values, personality, and stage of life. I am also comfortable exploring issues of faith and spirituality where this is important to the client.

I hold a degree in Counselling and am professionally accredited with the  ACC. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a BUPA recognised therapist,

Sessions are available face-to-face, online, or by telephone. I offer a free 20-minute initial telephone consultation to allow you to ask questions, learn more about how I work, and decide whether my approach feels right for you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
