About me
It isn’t always easy to admit to ourselves that something needs to change and ask for help. I imagine you are here because you want help with something in your life.
There are so many circumstances in life that cause us pain and suffering expressed in different ways: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, loneliness, bereavement, lack of purpose and so on.
Together, we will explore what it is you are having difficulty with as well as what you want for yourself. That often includes, firstly, recognising unhelpful patterns and obstacles that get in the way of what you want and then making the necessary adjustments. It is you that will make the choices and bring about the change in your life. My role is to support you and guide you towards your innate resilience, hope and capacity for change. I believe we all have the answers we need within us and my role is to help you to find your own.
I believe the most important element for therapy to be successful is the relationship between client and therapist and the trust/bond developed between them that allows the work to take place. My approach is, therefore, relational; aiming to foster a therapeutic alliance which supports you to examine your experience and feelings, learn strategies for coping, enhance your agency and will, develop or access your resilience and explore your options for change.
The first session is an opportunity for us to see how we feel in each other’s company and whether we are a good ‘fit’ to work together. We will also explore your current circumstances, the reasons that have brought you to seek help and your expectations as well as answer any questions you might have.
Areas I have worked with include anger, stress and anxiety, depression, panic attacks, abuse, trauma, guilt & shame, goal achievement, pregnancy and childbirth, bereavement and loss, building confidence, sexual issues and relationship issues amongst others. I provide short term therapy, or open ended depending on your needs.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
