It isn’t always easy to ask for help when we need it and it is a brave thing to do to admit to ourselves when something needs to change. I imagine you are here because you want help with something in your life.
Counselling is not about just listening and it certainly is not about me telling you what to do.
I will listen to your story, help you express feelings and thoughts and make sense of them; assist you in finding common themes and meanings behind the words, help you clarify and express what you truly want from your life. I will also aid you to recognise unhelpful patterns and obstacles that get in the way of what you want for yourself and release them, if needed, and ultimately change your circumstances. It will be you that will make the choices and make all that happen. My role is to support and guide you to your innate resilience, hope and capacity for change.
There are so many different situations and circumstances that are challenging and cause us pain and suffering: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, loneliness, lack of purpose, shame, bereavement and so on.. Counselling can provide support and help us lead a happier, more fulfilling life.
Ultimately, I believe we all have the answers we need within us and my goal is to assist you find your own answers and ways to live the life you want.
Areas I have worked with include anger, stress and anxiety, depression, panic attacks, abuse, guilt and shame, goal achievement, pregnancy and childbirth, building confidence and relationship issues amongst others . I provide short term therapy, or open ended depending on your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7) In Psychosynthesis Counselling from the Psychosynthesis Trust in London. Psychosynthesis is a style of counselling and psychotherapy employing a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques that are tailored to your needs.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
