About me
Are you feeling overwhelmed or simply sensing that something isn't quite right, without knowing why? Do you find yourself feeling anxious or low and feel stuck in a rut? Have you been looking for a quick answer, maybe on an AI program, but find that whilst the information is relative, it doesn't make you feel any better. You’re not alone.
Are you aware of past trauma’s which may be presenting as panic attacks, numbness, poor concentration, difficulty connecting with others, or you suddenly fly off the handle? Maybe you’re not aware or can’t recall any traumatic experiences you have faced – that doesn’t mean you’re not feeling the effects of trauma, it might just mean you’re experiencing generational trauma.
Trauma can be felt physically as well as emotionally. You may be feeling like you are living in a constant state of high alert. You might be struggling to relax, or struggling with feeling helpless, fearful or sad; these are all common symptoms of trauma. Physically you may experience an upset stomach, unable to sleep, pounding heart or sweating. You may be self-medicating, using alcohol or another substance to 'drown out' intrusive thoughts.
Unresolved trauma can affect your day-to-day functionality, relationships, work, and general well-being. Counselling can help you identify your triggers, develop coping strategies, and reduce distress - all within a safe and supportive space. While recovery may not mean erasing trauma entirely, together we can work towards managing its impact and helping you feel more in control.
I have extensive experience working with trauma, particularly childhood trauma. I don’t believe in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, instead, I work alongside you whilst offering a safe and compassionate space, where you can explore whatever arises at a pace that feels right for you. I work collaboratively, discussing practical ways to help you manage triggers and emotional reactions as they occur. I will always ensure we move gently, only exploring what feels comfortable for you, to avoid re-traumatisation. I offer reflections, gentle challenges, and support when you need it most.
Through therapy, we’ll explore your feelings and emotions to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, building self-awareness to help you live more authentically. You are always in control of your therapy journey, setting goals that reflect your needs and hopes.
I am deeply passionate about the power of talking therapy and regularly witness the transformation that can occur when clients feel seen and truly heard. Everyone’s therapeutic journey is unique, as we all experience life from our own frame of reference and perspective.
I offer compassion, empathy, openness, and authenticity in a calm and quiet environment. Talking therapy can be a powerful and healing process, helping you feel more comfortable with who you are. Learning self-acceptance - embracing your strengths and imperfections without judgment, can nurture a more positive and peaceful sense of the self.
Having experienced the benefits of therapy myself, I understand how positively impactful the ‘work’ can be. Unpacking and exploring my own life and experiences has allowed me to grow and change, and I feel privileged to witness similar transformations in my clients.
The relationship between a counsellor and client is key to the success of therapy. It’s important that you feel comfortable and supported. To help you decide whether we would be a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation, either by phone or face-to-face.
All sessions take place in person at my purpose-built therapy room in Frogpool, conveniently located between Truro and Falmouth. The space is quiet, private, and surrounded by nature, with plenty of off-street parking available.
To discuss your therapy requirements, and to take advantage of a free 15 minute consultation, with no obligation to book a session, you can contact me by email at - tracyraecounselling@gmail.com or by text to 07731 580333.

Training, qualifications & experience
- Diploma in Counselling and Therapy - Level 5.
- Level 2 and 4 in Counselling and Therapy.
- Trauma CPD course
I access regular training and exceed in completing the required monthly CPD hours. This allows me to stay up to date with the latest developments, research, and approaches within the counselling field. Ongoing learning is an important part of my practice, ensuring that the support I offer is both informed and effective.
With extensive experience in working with both childhood trauma and generalised trauma, I bring a deep understanding of how past experiences can shape present emotions, behaviours, and relationships. This knowledge helps clients gently explore, process, and make sense of their reactions, developing greater self-awareness and emotional resilience. Together, we work towards understanding the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and finding healthier, more balanced ways of being.
In addition to being a qualified counsellor, my extensive career has been in the filed of HR (Human Resources) which helps support those who are experiencing challenging times within their workplace. I can offer an insight into understanding workplace issues and help individuals to navigate difficult workplace relationships.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
