About me

I am a Gestalt counsellor providing face to face and online counselling. I work with adults and young people (age 12+).

I am based in Havant. My room is close to rail and bus links, with parking available nearby, making it easily accessible from Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

You will find me to be warm, welcoming and friendly and I will offer you a safe, confidential, supportive space to come and be heard without judgement.  I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and the ability to make positive changes in their lives and I will sit alongside you, and support you, as you find your own way, helping you to explore and make sense of your world and experiences.

I believe that the most important factor in counselling is the relationship between the client and the counsellor, and we can work together to build that relationship. Finding a counsellor who you feel comfortable working with is so important, which is why I offer a free, no obligation, initial telephone conversation.

I have experience in dealing with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and self-confidence, stress, relationship issues, body image and anger management.

I adapt my counselling approach to suit the needs of the individual, for instance by integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy within my counselling, and I can help you to develop a “toolkit” of strategies and techniques to manage your mental health.

Ultimately I see it as a huge privilege to sit and listen to someone as they tell me their story and allow me into their world and would be very happy to speak with you if you choose to contact me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
