About me

Hello, and welcome....I know that life is not always straightforward. It can be full of unexpected challenges and uncertainties, and that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Perhaps you are navigating anxiety, low mood, loss, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck?

I provide daytime and evening, face to face and online counselling sessions to both adults and young people (age 16+), and whether you’re considering short-term or longer-term counselling, we can work together to decide what’s right for you.

I am based in Havant and my room is close to rail and bus links, with parking available nearby. This makes it easily accessible from Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

I specialise in working with clients with anxiety and am passionate about listening to their experience and helping them to explore what might be at the root of the anxiety, whilst also providing them with tools to manage their physical symptoms along with ways to challenge their overthinking/negative thoughts.

I adapt my counselling approach to suit the needs of the individual, for instance by integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy within my counselling, and I can help you to develop a “toolkit” of strategies and techniques to manage your mental health.

Alongside anxiety, I have experience in dealing with a wide range of other issues, including depression, low self-esteem and self-confidence, stress, grief, relationship issues, family issues, body image, anger management and work related issues.

You will find me to be warm, welcoming and friendly and I will offer you a safe, confidential, supportive space to come and be heard without judgement.  I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and the ability to make positive changes in their lives and I will sit alongside you, and support you, as you find your own way, helping you to explore and make sense of your world and experiences.

I believe that the most important factor in counselling is the relationship between the client and the counsellor, and we can work together to build that relationship. Finding a counsellor who you feel comfortable working with is so important, which is why I offer a free, no obligation, initial telephone conversation.

In addition to working with clients privately I also work part-time with Aquilis Counselling, a service which provides counselling for the employees of Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, at Queen Alexandra Hospital, supporting them with both work and personal issues.

Ultimately, I see it as a huge privilege to sit and listen to someone as they tell me their story and allow me into their world, and would be very happy to speak with you if you choose to contact me.

Please just call or text me on 07746 157591, or email me on admin@tracyancellcounselling.com

I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours and look forward to speaking with you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
