About me
I'm Tori, a BACP registered integrative counsellor and the founder of Rise Counselling. I support people who are feeling stuck, anxious or overwhelmed, helping them to understand themselves better and to discover practical ways to move forward. My aim is to work with you in a collaborative, flexible way, creating a space where you feel heard, respected and supported as you navigate your challenges.
What is counselling?
Counselling is a form of talking therapy that offers you a supportive space to talk openly about what you are experiencing. It isn't about fixing you or changing who you are, but about helping you to better understand yourself and find ways of living that feel more balanced and fulfilling.
Counselling is a collaborative process, where we work together to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping you to gain clarity and self-awareness. Through this, you may begin to recognise your own strengths and resources and find a way forward that feels right for you.
By looking beyond the immediate problem and exploring the underlying causes, we can gain a clearer understanding of what is going on. This helps to inform what may be needed going forward, supporting meaningful and lasting change.

I have experience supporting individuals in a recovery setting, both as a counsellor and as a group worker. In these roles, I have worked closely with clients facing a range of challenges, helping them to develop coping strategies, build confidence and make positive changes in their lives. My experience in both settings has given me insight into the wider context of peoples lives, how they engage with support and the importance of creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for each person.
I came into counselling after experiencing my own challenges with anxiety and low self-esteem. Working one-to-one with a professional who met me with understanding and respect helped me to process these difficulties and find a sense of balance and self-confidence. That experience inspired me to train as a counsellor and motivates the way I work today - providing my clients with a supportive space where they feel heard, respected and valued as an individual of worth.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer face to face counselling sessions, online or by telephone, so you can access support from wherever you feel most comfortable. I understand that it can feel a bit daunting reaching out to someone you haven't met yet, which is why I offer a free 15 minute introduction call or videocall. During this chat, you can tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to get from it. I will also explain how we could work together, giving you time to decide if it feels like the right fit.
If you decide to work with me, our first session will give you space to share more fully what you are experiencing. Collaboratively we will then agree on how we will work together, and start to explore approaches that feel helpful, creating a plan that best supports your goals and what matters most to you.
