About me

How Human Givens Therapy can help

You may have a concern in your life for which you would like solution-focused support. In therapy we look together at how well your needs are being met and the impact of this on your emotional wellbeing. Using the Human Givens framework (https://www.hgi.org.uk/) we also look at how you can use your innate resources more effectively to meet these needs. Within this my approach is empathic, fluid and flexible, drawing on a range of evidence-based techniques and approaches to suit you as the client. It is effective often in few sessions and for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression and addiction. For trauma a safe, non-intrusive and highly effective approach can be used.

More About Me

My therapy is with adult clients. I offer sessions in Bromsgrove, Stourbridge and Kidderminster.

I have worked successfully for over twenty years as an Educational Psychologist and find the Human Givens approach to be helpful in face-to-face work with children and young people, parents and staff. It also deepens my understanding of schools and other organisations and how the needs of all those working within these systems can be better met.

Making contact

I am available flexibly for daytime, evening and sometimes weekend appointments, with availability to travel and online therapy considered on a case-by-case basis. I also offer a free initial 15-minute telephone, or short e mail consultation if preferred, to help decide if you would like book an initial session.

What To Expect in Your First Session

The first arranged session normally lasts from an hour to an hour and a half. This facilitates any further information-gathering on the area of concern, but also allows us the time to agree and carry out therapy to agreed goals and in a relaxed and well-paced way.  A further session can be agreed if needed and this is always determined by you as the client.

Session Fees

Fees are at a set rate of £50 per session, regardless of length or number of sessions.

Referrals are mostly from individuals, but also accepted from health and education providers and from charities.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.
