About me
I am a professionally qualified and registered psychodynamic psychotherapist with over 18 years of theraputic and clinical experience. I am based in Central London at Queen Street, EC4 - in the heart of the City, London's Financial District - 2 minutes from Mansion House tube station and 2 minutes from Cannon Street station and Bank station.
In a strictly confidential environment, as a counsellor and a psychotherapist located in the City, I offer you the space to work through any particular areas in your life that may be troubling you. In particular, counselling and therapy can help you with (but is not limited to) any of the following problems:-
Emotional issues including feelings of depression, stress at work or home, anger, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, bereavement or loss, traumatic events, post-pandemic trauma, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, anxiety, panic attacks.
Personal issues including loneliness, sadness, feelings of being empty, loss of direction and meaning in your life, unhappiness from your childhood, sexual abuse, unresolved issues from the past, adjusting to changes in your life, sexuality (including gay, lesbian, or bisexual issues), boarding school survivors, addiction, obsessions, redundancy.
Relationship issues such as inability to form or sustain relationships, feelings around separation, family conflicts, difficulty in balancing home and work life, emotional and personal relationship difficulties, a desire to seek greater self-knowledge and to develop yourself further.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies from the University of Roehampton and a BACP accredited Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from WPF Counselling and Psychotherapy, London (WPF Therapy).
WPF Therapy has been recognised as one of the leading counselling and psychotherapy training organisations in the UK, and which maintained a reputation for both clinical and academic excellence.
I am a registered professional member of BACP and I work to their professional Codes of Ethics and Practice and can make available, upon request, copies of their code of ethics and complaints and grievance procedure. I also regularly attend Continual Professional Development seminars and events in order to maintain professional standards and to keep abreast of current developments and thinking in the psychotherapeutic community.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
