MBACP Counsellor & Psychotherapist, Addiction Specialist.

About me

Are you or is someone you love struggling with alcohol, drug misuse or addiction? I understand what it's like to feel helpless, like nobody understands, and how tiring it is to keep hiding what's really going on. My aim is to help you make sense of it and develop the tools to make lasting change. Book a free introductory call to see if I'm able to help.

In my experience, substance use and addictive behaviours develop as a way of managing unprocessed trauma, restlessness, and difficult, intense feelings, rather than being the problem in itself. Exploring the underlying reasons can help carve out a new future for yourself. That's what we'll do together.

It takes courage to start looking inward, take accountability, and acknowledge the hard truths holding you back. Change is possible, and I am here to help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, working within Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis, and CBT approaches, specialising in helping those struggling with addiction, as well as their family members and loved ones.

I have over six years' professional experience and more than 1,000 hours of therapeutic intervention, working with community interest companies and drug & alcohol / addiction rehabilitation centres. I help people to understand, work through, and improve their mental health and wellbeing, supporting them to make realistic and valuable change to become the version of themselves they want to be.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
