About me

I am an experienced therapist offering counselling and psychotherapy to adults and adolescents, on an open-ended basis.

Generally, feeling anxious, cut off or troubled can make life a real struggle, and sometimes confronting these emotions can feel even more overwhelming. This is when counselling and psychotherapy can help most. Painful or difficult feelings, repeated patterns of behaviour or troubled relationships will often have their origins in past experiences, and it is sometimes hard to understand why these difficulties continue to affect our lives. Therefore, having a space to reflect can be incredibly helpful at these times.

I take an integrative approach to my practice. This means I am interested the relationship between thoughts, feelings and physical experience, often focusing on the links between the past and the present. In our work together, you will develop a deeper understanding of how your past experiences continue to influence and affect you. This understanding can help in processing thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviours, enabling you to make a positive and lasting change.

As your therapist I will provide a safe and confidential space where I will help you to explore what is troubling you. You will not be criticised or judged as we work together for you to find a greater insight, understanding and peace of mind.

My practice is based at Cambridge Counselling Service, in the Eastern part of Cambridge.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor, with Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy. I am professionally registered and accredited as a psychotherapist and trainee Supervisor with the BACP.

In addition to private practice, I have worked as a therapist in various secondary education settings, currently splitting my practice with work in a therapeutic learning environment for vulnerable adolescents from the age of 13.

As well as my training as a psychotherapist, I have developed my own creative practice in youth and community provision as well as a mural artist, completing commissions around the eastern region.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
