About me

Are you sick and tired from feeling sick and tired all the time?

Have you ever found yourself saying, "I'm never doing that again," only to end up back where you started?

Maybe you can stop drinking or using drugs for a while, but somehow you keep returning to old patterns.

Perhaps you're hiding the reality of your drinking or drug use from the people closest to you. Or maybe your relationships with family, friends or your partner have become strained because of what's been happening.

Have you recently relapsed or found yourself relapsing again and again and you're left wondering why?

If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

You may have known for some time that something isn't right. You may have been encouraged, or even pressured, to get help, but instead of feeling hopeful, you've been left feeling frustrated, ashamed or stuck.

The truth is, alcohol or drugs are often not the real problem - they've become a way of coping with something deeper. Perhaps they once helped you get through difficult emotions, trauma, stress or pain. But what once felt like a solution may now be causing more harm than relief.

The good news is that change is possible.

Together, we'll take the time to understand what's really driving your drinking or drug use and identify the approach that's right for you. Whether you need short-term support or longer-term therapy, I'll work alongside you at a pace that feels manageable, helping you build lasting change.

Getting started
I offer a free 30-minute consultation so we can get to know each other and see whether we're the right fit. During this conversation, we'll talk about your situation, discuss how I can help, and make sure you have the information you need to begin safely. If appropriate, I'll also signpost you to other helpful services available in your local area.

Sessions are currently offered online, making support accessible wherever you are, with plans to offer face-to-face appointments in the near future.

Further information

I work primarily in a person centred approach. This means that I will try my best to understand what life is like for you. This can be a particularly powerful experience as addiction is a commonly misunderstood experience.

I may include other therapeutic techniques if they would be helpful. I am trained in the person centred approach, CBT and psychodynamic therapy.

I also have a particular interest in transactional analysis and attachment theory.
