Further information
I hold a strong belief that fulfilling and enriching relationships and connections with others can have a deeply positive impact on almost every aspect of our lives. How we integrate with friends, neighbours, work colleagues, family members, romantic partners in fact our support systems in general can promote self esteem and confidence allowing us to thrive. However just as these relationships can provide us with stability when they break down or become dysfunctional so can their effects be destabilising and painful. Having trained as a relationship counsellor I endeavour with every client I work with to create the opportunity for them to " talk out loud" to open up boundaries of their own thinking to endorse the possibility of making changes and ultimately achieving a different out come. Change is often a concept we are drawn to when we are feeling stuck and going round an round in circles.
Change is also hard work and not easy especially if you don't know how to change or you feel on your own. Therefore support at this crucial time is an intrinsic part of the Therapeutic Alliance built up between the Counsellor and the Client and needs to be present for the work to be beneficial.
Out of Crisis comes opportunity as some might say and we just sometimes could really do with some professional support to make the most of that opportunity.
