About me

Hello, my name is Tanya.

As a counsellor-psychotherapist for over 25 years and a supervisor for over 15 years, I continue to see how helpful counselling can be.

Are you finding daily life hard to manage, or perhaps there is a specific issue that is impacting you?  Are you dealing with anxiety, stress, abuse or trauma?  I am sorry that you are having to struggle - life can get us down and sometimes the most courageous thing we can do is to seek some support.

I offer you my extensive experience as a counsellor, supervisor and trainer of counsellors so that together we can find the best way forward for you to resolve the things that are troubling you.

In our first meeting you will be able to see if you will be comfortable working with me an I will be able to gain some more information about what is bringing you to counselling and make sure I am the right counsellor for you.

Below is a video that tells you a bit about how i work. It is a bit long so feel free to fast forward!

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma and Masters in Counselling, a Diploma in supervision and a Certificate in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

I am a Senior accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS), have professional insurance with Howden and am registered with the ICO for GDPR.

I take seriously my ongoing training and my personal therapy and supervision in order to be as resourced as possible in order to support you.

I have many years experience in various charities and voluntary sector groups supporting people with all sorts of difficulties as well as attachment, dissociation and trauma. I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which pays attention to the body holding trauma, and I also work with issues such as ME and fibromyalgia.

I also enjoy working with counselling students in personal therapy.
