About me

Sometimes, life events can significantly affect us. You might feel depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed by situations or as though you have to deal with complex issues alone with seemingly no way out. Occasionally, we experience events that might keep us stuck in negative behaviour patterns and reduce our quality of life. I can support you in navigating those times.

I help with depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, generational trauma, war and displacement, mental health issues such as eating disorders, childhood trauma, and conscious parenting.  I believe in insight-oriented therapy that integrates techniques tuned to your needs and pace, ensuring your needs are acknowledged and you feel understood.

Counselling is a process that allows you to develop greater self-awareness and helps you discover and strengthen your inner resources, empowering you to make changes in life and feel capable and confident. You are offered to talk about issues that affect your quality of life at your own pace and in an entirely confidential and non-judgemental environment. You will be helped to uncover negative patterns and triggers that undermine your well-being and supported to develop new perspectives, strategies, and ways to deal with and manage them so you can live, feel, and thrive.

I am fully qualified and professionally experienced in assisting you in exploring your difficulties in a safe, understanding, and confidential space. Whether you feel the need to deal with a particular crisis or trauma or want help with more general issues, I offer both short-term focused sessions and ongoing counselling.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and fully comply with its ethical standards and guidelines. My experience includes working for a major mental health facility in Northampton for six years and counselling in a North London counselling centre. With over 15 years of experience, I teach counselling skills on a BACP-accredited postgraduate diploma course for Psychodynamic Counselling.

My private practice consulting rooms are easily accessible by public transport and very close to free and easy car parking. I also offer sessions via Zoom or Teams.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
