About me
Hello I am Suz welcome to my profile. I am an experienced counsellor ,supervisor and psychotherapist working from kings Northfield . I offer individual face to face counselling on a long or short term basis. I work in a person centred way working along side my clients. I offer a warm , safe , non judgmental therapeutic relationship and environment.
Counselling offers a space to reflect on you and make some sense of your emotions. It will help you to discover your own resources and become more self aware. I work at my clients pace and offer support throughout the counselling process. I am able to work creatively as sometimes finding the words may be hard. A more creative approach may help you feel more relaxed.
I am an experienced LGBT affirmative therapist. I have experience working within the community through working at Healthy Gay Life (umbrella) in Birmingham. I understand the difficulties such as coming out, gender and sexual orientation, cross cultural relationships, religious impact on sexuality, transitioning as well as other issues. I am passionate about working with and exploring identity issues this includes sexuality, gender and social class.
I have experience working with bereavement , I have previously worked at Solihull Bereavement Counselling Service. Grief can feel at times over whelming and confusing. Everyone grieves differently and this can be an extremely emotionally challenging time. Shock, Denial, Depression are just some things you may be experiencing. I also work with people who have been affected by Pet Bereavement too. As a pet owner myself I know how devastating losing a pet can be. If you are struggling with any kind of loss and feel I may be the right counsellor for you please contact me.
I am able to work with clients with acquired brain injury.
Sports Counselling can help you if you are being held back maybe feeling anxious about joining a gym? Together we can explore the reasons that are stopping you from making that first step. Or maybe you are a passionate athlete and you have lost your passion sometimes our worries stop us enjoying what we are most passionate about. I have an interest in sport I am a keen athlete and running coach , myself maybe I can help you.
Other issues that may bring you to counselling are Depression, stress, relationship issues, family issues, anxiety as well as generalised anxiety disorder, affairs, panic disorder , problems at work and many more.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
