About me
Hi, thank you so much for stopping by.
My name is Susie, and I'm a Counsellor, based in Eynsham, West Oxfordshire. I work with clients over the age of 18, both face-to-face and online.
Counselling can offer you the opportunity to reflect on issues which may be challenging, confusing or distressing, in an accepting and confidential space. I can help you by giving you space to begin to unpack and process your thoughts, feelings and emotions, without judgement, and to support you in navigating your way forward towards growth and healing.
I am located within commutable distance from Oxford, Abingdon, Carterton, Burford, Bampton, Woodstock, Kidlington, and surrounding villages and towns.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor. I completed my CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Willows Counselling & Training, Swindon. I currently counsel in several agencies both in Swindon and Witney, alongside my private practice work based in Eynsham.
I am a Registered Member of both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christians in Counselling (ACC). As such I am bound by their ethical frameworks.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) is a Christian professional membership organisation for those involved in counselling/psychotherapy and linked professions, i.e. pastoral care, coaching and spiritual direction, in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
After you've made an initial enquiry, I'll forward you information about my practice.
I then offer a free phone consultation, to explore what you would like to gain from counselling; it also provides you with the chance to ask any questions, and gives us both the opportunity to decide whether we would like to begin working together.
Our initial session will then give us the chance to discuss the counselling contract and begin to explore what you'd like to bring to the sessions.
