Susie Flashman Jarvis MBACP Master coach
A safe place to be: 20 years of therapeutic work has enabled me to develop a robust way of working that ensures that the client feels safe. My experience working with a wide demographic ensures that people from all walks of life are heard and supported, whether by counselling or by coaching.
I believe that counselling and coaching is primarily about the relationship that is forged between the counsellor/coach, and the client. It is essential that the client knows that they are believed in, that they are supported within a secure relationship, where it is then possible to look at the issues that trouble them..
Therapy provides the opportunity to explore issues and thus find answers that are often buried deep within. Hearing your voice aloud frequently enables self-discovery that life with all its busyness, so often prevents.
Coaching is a way of looking at road blocks that so often limit our beliefs, and finding ways to remove them.
It is future based with goals set by the client. It is an energetic way to work that facilitates thriving within the workplace environment as well as at home.
Surroundings are also important: I work in a private room in my garden that is light and comfortable it is on the ground level and access to it is through my garden gate: clients often have been heard to breathe a sigh of relief as they settle into one of my wide comfortable chairs. It has been described as a sanctuary.
Working over zoom has proved to be very effective with clients really benefiting from face to face contact, despite distance.
Covid 19 in these unprecedented days anxiety is running high and the stress of the unknown is impacting so many. Talking about concerns and finding a way through can make all the difference. I look forward to hearing from you.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
