About me

Hello, my name is Susan. I am a Psychotherapist, Dramatherapist and EMDR practitioner. I’m registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). I work with children, young people and adults. In Dramatherapy, people are supported to use creative expression to explore their stories, set goals, solve problems, express feelings, achieve improved mental health and make positive changes in their lives. I also offer EMDR therapy, which helps people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences. We can work together to help you cope better, and I can offer a bespoke service that fits your needs. I have experience working with a wide range of issues. I can offer you a confidential space where you will be listened to with compassion and helped with some of the difficulties you may be experiencing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with children, adolescents, families and adults in education and other charitable organisations for over twenty five years. My training in both the creative arts and therapy has enabled me to provide a bespoke service that is confidential, respectful, collaborative and non-judgemental.  My work is influenced by trauma-informed approaches which allow us to look at ourselves with acceptance and curiosity and to understand why we experience life in the way that we do.

I am a Psychotherapist and Dramatherapist, HCPC registered. I have Masters' degrees in both Dramatherapy and Drama. I am also a qualified drama teacher and hold a PGCE from the General Teaching Council, with distinction.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
