I know it can be difficult to ask for help and meet someone new.I will do everything I can to make the process straightforward and welcoming .I provide counselling for those who want effective and accessible support.
I am a qualified Counsellor, Mental Health Therapist, ADHD Nurse and Registered Mental Health Nurse. I have worked in the NHS for over 35 years. I now have my own private practice & work as a Counsellor in local Schools.
I have unparalleled experience working with children, young people & adults. I have worked with McMillan Palliative & Bereavement Service & CRI with clients & families affected by Alcohol & Drugs.
I work within the BACP and NMC codes of ethics and receive regular supervision, giving you reassurance that I am an ethical professional practitioner .I also carry professional indemnity insurance and I have an enhanced police disclosure.
I believe in the person centred ethos; that everybody, given the right environment, has the ability to grow. I offer clients a safe, non judgmental & confidential environment to explore their problems, allow them to make changes, heal old wounds, make peace with the past, & accept & embrace who they are.
I feel it is important to offer flexibility according to my clients needs. I work with a wide range of clients issues and I feel the most important aspect of successful therapy is the relationship between client and counsellor.
My style is warm and supportive.I will work with you to help find yourself in a new and insightful way.I believe that one size does not fit all, that is why I employ a variety of evidence based treatments to meet your individual needs.
My private practice is based in the beautiful Cheshire countryside of Lymm. I have a light , peaceful ,air-conditioned room situated on the ground floor enabling you to feel relaxed and welcome. There is ample parking and accessibility.
I am ideally situated for Warrington, Altrincham, Hale, Bowden and Cheshire. The practice is easily accessible for visitors from the Merseyside and Greater Manchester areas using the motorway network. It is served by Network Warrington bus services within 2 minutes walk.

What to expect in your first session
To give new clients peace of mind, I always use the first meeting as a chance for us to both find out whether we’ll work well together. Therefore our initial session of 30 -50 minutes is completely free.
In this first session we will discuss your expectations from counselling and what, as a trained counsellor, I can help you with.
I will explain ethical issues with you such as contracting and ethical boundaries. We will also discuss practical issues such as the best times for and frequency of the sessions.
It is important for you to find out how comfortable you feel working with me.
For the duration of our work together I will be focused on being your therapeutic partner.I will support you with respect and empathy.for as long as it is of benefit to you.
A brief experience may be sufficient for you to achieve clarity and relief.Or it may be that you wish to continue on and explore your experiences more deeply .The frequency will vary according to your unique needs.
