About me
Are you going through a difficult time? Or do you feel like something is stopping you from leading a better life?
I’m Steph. I’m an experienced qualified counsellor and work with adults and children aged 11+. I’m a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their ethical guidelines.
I offer a safe and confidential space where you can talk about anything and not be judged. I believe that developing a strong therapeutic relationship and building trust are the key to explore any problems you’re experiencing and finding ways to make positive changes.
I understand that seeking therapy can be daunting. I offer a warm and supportive environment to make you feel comfortable and confident to tell your story. My practice is underpinned by a person-centred approach which means that I encourage you to explore the issues that are most pressing to you at your own speed. I will never judge you. Instead, I will empathically encourage and support you through your therapy.
I use a variety of methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and I can also integrate creativity in my work to offer different ways to express yourself and communicate thoughts and feelings which might be difficult to put into words.
Please note that I work term time only.
Please email me or call 07716 642575 for a free 15 minute consultation to discuss how I can help you. If I am unable to answer the phone please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as possible.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
