About me

Hello, I’m Stelios, thank you for viewing my profile. I recognise that your life is unique to you, which is why my work is tailored to you and your needs. I offer a safe, friendly and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, valued and accepted. I will be with you every step of the way! I truly believe that the strong and trusting relationship that we will build will facilitate your healing and growth.

Here’s a little background story about me…

Being born and growing up in Cheltenham I previously trained to become a barber and worked as one for 10 years. Although it allowed me an opportunity to develop my communication skills and engage with people on a daily basis, I have always felt passionately about helping others and have found this to be rewarding.

Additionally, being active has been a major part of my life. Playing football, rugby, jujitsu and water polo as I grew up and now enjoying regular walks and the gym have been ways by which I look after my mental health; a subject I have always found fascinating. My ambition to build a rewarding career helping others alongside my interest in mental health, noting how important it is and how it can be impacted by so many things, led me down the path of a counsellor.

MY EXPERIENCE

(working with ages 18-50 with topics around…)

In my professional career, I have worked with a variety of ages from 18 – 50 years old. They have all come from different backgrounds, nationalities and cultures. I have been brought up in a Greek family and community where I have experienced the challenges that come with cultural differences, which enhances my understanding on difference and diversity.

Although I have worked with many different difficulties, some are – Anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, identity, self-worth, burnout and loss.

MY APPROACH

I work in an integrative way, combining both person-centred and psychodynamic theories to build a strong and trusting relationship. This allows me to create a supportive therapeutic atmosphere where you can guide the sessions to explore topics of your choice, at your pace.

Our therapeutic journey will always be centred around you. You will have a safe, warm, kind and non-judgmental space for you to share, explore and process your difficulties. You lead the sessions, and I will be there with you, every step of the way.

Over time, we will build a strong and trusting relationship for you to explore the deeper emotions and difficulties that may or may not be in your awareness whilst exploring your past, present and future life.

If you feel you are ready to start your counselling journey, or have any questions regarding my current practice, please contact me and we can take the first step together.

Further information

Counselling is a safe and confidential environment to allow you to work with someone who has been trained and has the knowledge and understanding required to support you. Over time, you will build a trusting relationship with your counsellor. It will allow you the space and opportunity to build self-confidence and develop a greater understanding of yourself, exploring both past and present difficulties in your life. This will provide you with the support needed to navigate the impacts past and daily events in life can have, bringing the unconscious into consciousness is a key part of your journey and allowing you to draw your own conclusions. Whatever the reason, whether you are repeating old habits, feeling overwhelmed by the present or feel past events are impacting your present life, counselling allows you to be you 100% of the time, and grow to develop your self-awareness and understanding.
