About me

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I offer a supportive, thoughtful space where we can work together, at your pace, to explore what is happening for you and what you may need.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck or unsure where to begin. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss or major life transitions. Whatever brings you, my aim is to offer a calm, compassionate relationship in which you feel heard, respected and understood.

 My approach

I work using a relational and integrative approach, informed by psychodynamic and person‑centred principles. I believe meaningful change happens within a safe therapeutic relationship, where difficult feelings can be explored with care and curiosity.

I pay close attention to your individual experiences, relationships and wider context, working in a way that is reflective, boundaried and ethically sound. Therapy is not about being “fixed”, but about gaining greater understanding, self‑compassion and choice.

What you can expect

I aim to offer a therapeutic space that feels both warm and containing. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, and I am mindful of the courage it takes to reach out. Together, we can think about what you need from therapy and whether I am the right therapist for you.

Clinical Supervision for counsellors and Psychotherapist

I also offer clinical supervision. My supervision style is collaborative and thoughtful, offering both support and appropriate challenge. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to think openly about your work, develop confidence in your practice and hold the complexities of clinical responsibility.

My supervision practice is integrative and relational, informed by psychodynamic and person‑centred thinking. I value supervision as a place to reflect not only on the work with clients, but also on the impact of the work on you as a practitioner.

I pay close attention to ethical practice, safeguarding, boundaries and the wider organisational or systemic contexts you may be working within. Together, we can think about clinical material, professional development, self‑reflection and resilience.

Experience and professional background

Alongside my clinical work, I hold a senior clinical leadership role and have extensive experience supporting counsellors and clinical supervisors within organisational settings.

I am a registered member of the BACP and UKCP and work in line with their Ethical Frameworks. I engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
