Training, qualifications & experience
St Andrew's Healthcare has been established for over 175 years. The clinicians who work within our private therapy clinics are leaders in their fields and care for some of the most challenging mental health and neurodegenerative patients, providing world-class clinical intervention and expertise, on a daily basis.
With these expertise we are able to offer the following treatments to support your mental health needs:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - can help break problems into smaller parts and provide practical ways to manage anxiety, depression and stress.
Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) - enables you to discover the root cause of your symptoms and move forward through the careful analysis of past experiences.
Schema Therapy - a longer term therapy that can help people with longstanding difficulties who either do not respond to traditional CBT or who have experienced relapses or recurrent problems.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy - an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.
Compassion Focussed Therapy – teaches skills to help people develop compassion for themselves, which leads to reductions in anxiety, depression, anger, stress, rumination, perfectionism, fear of failure, and body shame.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – involves learning to understand and accept difficult life events, and commit to changing self-defeating behaviour in order to have a better life.
Mindfulness – can successfully relieve emotional distress and improve wellbeing by learning to focus on the present moment rather than dwelling on the past or ruminating about the future.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills – include Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness.
