About me
I am a clinical psychologist with over 18 years of experience in clinical practice. I know that therapy can be a very vulnerable and difficult place where we try to face our fear and pain in hopes of finding a way through it all. For this reason, I try to establish a strong and connected relationship with my clients so that we can safely do 'the work' in close collaboration.
As a person, I’m down to earth and quite direct but also deeply sensitive and containing. In therapy, I take an active role in addition to listening and holding space for difficult emotional experiences. I provide feedback, clarification and education around a given problem, as creating a deep understanding is essential to effecting change. I will challenge you where necessary but also give support, grounding and tenderness throughout that process.
In practice, I don't just focus on the problems, but also ask my clients to go deep and explore what brings them meaning, purpose, peace of mind, and joy since these aspects of living are crucial in terms of healing and living a fulfilled life. In addition, I outline the practical steps that need to be taken to actualise this change.
I am registered with HCPC and chartered by the BPS in the UK. I additionally hold licensure in New York State in the US. I practice integrative psychotherapy with a primary focus on Psychodynamic Therapy, ACT, CFT, CBT, Buddhist Psychology and Existential Humanism.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and moved to New York City at the age of 18. I then earned an MA and Doctorate at the New School for Social Research. I moved to the UK in 2011 at the age of 34 and have remained here in London since. I am accredited, registered, and licensed both in the UK and the USA.
