About me
Hi, I’m Siobhan, a Psychological Therapist with 15years NHS experience of working with people experiencing a range of psychological difficulties, I specialise in anxiety, OCD, eating disorders and trauma.
It takes a lot of courage to seek help and I understand the importance of finding a therapist you feel safe with. Building a trusting relationship is key to making progress in any therapy and I offer a compassionate and non-judgemental space for us to make sense of your difficulties, and think about how we can work together to get you to where you want to be.
Once we have a good understanding of your difficulties we can start to think about what might be unintentionally maintaining them, be it coping strategies that have run their course, or patterns and ways of relating to ourselves and others that may have started out protective and helpful but have now become part of the problem, we will work together to work out what is keeping you stuck and from this, we will be able to think about what will help you to move forwards. I offer a range of therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Compassion focused therapy and Eating disorder specific therapies.
Everyone is unique and there is no one size fits all when it comes to therapy, I will work in an integrated way with you to ensure therapy is tailored to your needs. I offer a free 15 min consultation online or via telephone to answer any questions you may have. You can then take some time to decide whether you would like to work together and arrange an initial appointment. During this appointment we can talk in more depth about your difficulties, think about what you would like to gain from therapy and we can decide together what we think would be most helpful for you. I offer initial consultations and therapy sessions both in person in Stockport and Fallowfield and online.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked in NHS Psychology Services for 15years, 9 of which were spent in Talking Therapy services working with people struggling with a range of psychological difficulties including depression, OCD, trauma, anxiety and low self esteem. I have spent the past 6years providing therapy in an NHS eating disorder service and currently continue to work in this role along side private work.
Training & Qualifications
After completing my Psychology degree I continued my studies and skills at Post Graduate level completing a PG Certificate and then Diploma in CBT.
I have undertaken further training in Compassion Focused Therapy, specialised forms of CBT for eating disorders and MANTRA (an eating disorder specific therapy).
I am currently working towards ACAT accreditation in Cognitive Analytical Therapy and I am due to complete this in Autumn 2026. I will then be able to offer CAT and until then can bring a CAT informed approach to all of my work.
