About me

Hello, my name is Sim, a qualified and BACP registered psychotherapeutic counsellor with a Master’s in counselling. I aim to offer a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space where you are able to process any thoughts, feelings and experiences you would like to explore.

I take a person-centred approach, meaning you are free to choose the direction of our work together whilst I aim to support you with anything you wish to explore or delve deeper into. As well as this, I also use attachment theory and interpersonal neurobiology as part of my integrative approach. These theories help provide a deeper understanding of how past relationships and early childhood experiences may impact you at present. By utilising this integrative approach, I am able to offer a safe, non-judgmental and empathetic space for you to explore thoughts and emotions at a pace that suits you.

In sessions, you can expect to receive a non-judgmental, accepting and confidential environment in which you can explore thoughts, deepen knowledge about yourself and your emotions and gain insights into yourself and the way in which you approach the world.

My aim is to support you to feel confident in facing the challenges in life as well as exploring experiences that you may wish to process further. We can work together towards the goal you wish to reach to achieve healing, personal growth and greater clarity of yourself.

I also offer online sessions which allow you to access therapy from the comfort of your own environment. Please feel free to contact me in order to get started.

I begin by offering a free 15-20 minute phone call consultation so we are able to discuss your needs, goals and how we are able to work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
