About me

Relationships, caregiving, chronic illness and loss can place enormous pressure on us

Sometimes life becomes about simply getting through each day, leaving little space for connection, communication, or hope. You may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety about the future
  • Loneliness, even when you're surrounded by people
  • Emotional disconnection from your partner
  • Repeated arguments or communication difficulties
  • Overwhelm from caring responsibilities
  • Grief after miscarriage, baby loss or bereavement
  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion
  • A sense that you've lost yourself along the way

I'm Simone Bell, a qualified counsellor offering face-to-face counselling in Kingswinford and online across the UK. I work with both couples and individuals, specialising in the emotional impact of caregiving, chronic illness, relationships and loss, including miscarriage and baby loss.

Alongside my professional training, I also bring lived experience of chronic illness within my own family. This gives me a deeper understanding of the emotional impact that caring responsibilities, changing identities, uncertainty, anxiety and loneliness can have on individuals, couples and families.

Areas I can support you with:

Couples counselling
I work with couples experiencing:

  • Communication difficulties
  • Emotional distance
  • Conflict and recurring arguments
  • Changes in intimacy
  • The impact of caregiving or chronic illness
  • Miscarriage or baby loss
  • Major life transitions placing strain on the relationship

Individual counselling
I support individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry
  • Loneliness and isolation
  • Stress and overwhelm
  • Burnout and compassion fatigue
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Low self-esteem
  • Caring responsibilities
  • Chronic illness (their own or someone close to them)
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Life changes and transitions

How I work
My approach is integrative and person-centred, meaning therapy is tailored to your individual needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

I aim to create a space that feels warm, safe and free from judgement, where you can speak openly about what's happening and feel truly heard.

While I will always listen with compassion, I'm not a counsellor who simply sits quietly and nods. I'll offer thoughtful reflections, gentle challenge where appropriate, and honest feedback to help you gain greater understanding, confidence and clarity. Clients often tell me they value this balance of authenticity and purpose.

Also, though therapy may involve exploring difficult emotions such as anxiety, grief or loneliness, I also believe it should feel human. So where appropriate, I bring warmth, hope and even humour into our sessions.

What to expect from your first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another.

Together we'll explore:

  • What has brought you to counselling
  • Your background and current circumstances
  • The challenges you're facing
  • How these experiences are affecting your daily life and relationships
  • What you hope counselling might help you achieve (and if you're unsure, that's completely okay)

There's no pressure to share everything straight away. We'll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, collaboration and understanding.

Take the first step
Whether you're experiencing anxiety, loneliness, relationship difficulties, the impact of caregiving, chronic illness or loss, you don't have to navigate it alone.

If you're looking for individual counselling or couples counselling in Kingswinford, or online across the UK, I'd be honoured to support you. If you're ready to take the first step, please get in touch to arrange an initial appointment.

  • I offer a free 15-minute consultation if you would like to explore whether counselling feels right for you.
  • I aim to respond to enquiries within 24 hours (Monday–Friday). Messages received over the weekend will be responded to on Monday. If you haven’t heard back in that timeframe, please check your junk/spam folder, or if you’d prefer, you're also welcome to send a brief text to confirm your enquiry has been received.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ACC
Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC)

Further information

I offer a short initial assessment over the telephone to help us get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. It’s a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work and there’s no commitment to continue unless it feels right for you.

Feeling nervous about reaching out?
That’s completely normal. Taking that first step can feel daunting, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. You don’t need to have the right words, just a willingness to start the conversation. From there, we’ll take things at your pace, together.
