About me

A contemporary practitioner my approach to psychotherapy and counselling is to work with you, supporting your need for change, understanding or resolution. I like to keep things simple, jargon free and practical. Taking the first step is important.

I provide a safe, confidential and private space, as well as time to think and talk. We can work face-to-face or online. No rush, no agenda and no judgment.  I listen because this time is for you, it's yours.

Experienced in working with children and young people to help then understand how to manage stuff they experience or feel.  Anxiety, low mood, low confidence, being bullied, trauma experiences, self-harm, ADHD, etc.

Working with adults who come with a range of questions and concerns including PTSD, trauma, suicidal thoughts, depression, depression, low self esteem, neurodiversity or wanting to come off mental health medications, etc.

Taking your first step is for you. Having a brief telephone conversation is your next step. After this we can meet and start working through what you want to.

Meetings last about an hour, are conversational and are about you.

Training, qualifications & experience

All of my training has been focused on what can be described as humanistic or person centric and relational. This means that you, your experience and how you are is central.

My training and qualifications are a way of helping me understand how we think, feel and behave from a range of perspectives.

My training in psychology supports evidence-informed ways of working.

My training in transactional analysis psychotherapy supports understanding of self, others and how we relate.

My training in motivational interviewing supports in looking at options, choices and making decisions & changes right for you.

Further I have worked and continue to work with children and young people, families, couples, adults and groups in areas including addictive behaviours, being bullied and tantrums, etc.
