About me
Safe, Confidential and Private space for you to talk, be listened to, to be heard, take time out. All about meeting your needs, working with you, at your pace. This time is for you, it is yours.
Many reasons to come to see me including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, feeling sad, not sure what to do, etc. As an adult there are many things we have to manage that no-one ever said would cause me a difficulty. One that I would like to chew over. As a child, no-one ever gave me a manual to understand how to be a parent. There can be really difficult times; with no helpful answers. I would just like to take time out and think out this.
It is normal to need time to think, to talk with someone in ways you cannot talk to friends and family. You may be a man, NHS or forces, having time to think and talk could be useful to you.
My practice is based on a range of approaches that are person-centred, relational, systemic and focus on you. They include Transactional Analysis, Motivational Interviewing, coaching, cognitive, behavioural and Psychology. Our space is within my Therapeutic Garden, in a private room alongside puppets, toys, group campfire and others.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained in transactional analysis - psychotherapy which for me is a way of understanding how we as people relate to other people and understand the world in which we live.
I have a degree in psychology which allows me to understand more of how and why we think, feel and behave in the way we do.
Also I have trained in a number of areas that help me work better and include approaches that support people to make decisions, understand themselves and others and make changes.
Further I have worked and continue to work with children and young people, families, couples, adults and groups in areas including addictive behaviours, being bullied and tantrums, etc.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
