Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, and my core modalities are EMDR, CBT, & CFT. With 20 years of clinical experience, including extensive work within the NHS, charity and private sector, I offer a warm, professional space for deep healing to take place in.

Alongside my private practice I am also a Clinical Lead for Student Mental Health in a Higher Education institution and have years of experience working with the mental health difficulties that young adults present with in this setting.

I take a trauma informed approach to my work which is grounded in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) alongside the use of EMDR as a highly effective modality for processing traumatic memories. I believe true change happens when we address the connection between the mind-body and brain and I place emphasis on working in an integrative, somatic-focused way that is tailored to the needs of the individuals that I am working with. My work is guided by Polyvagal theory, and I incorporate elements of mindfulness and body focused interventions that help to alleviate stress in the body and regulate the nervous system, restoring a sense of safety and supporting recovery from anxiety and depression symptoms.

I place strong emphasis on the healing power of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for all my clinical work and provide a safe and confidential space for individuals to explore their lived experiences and facilitate change in a way that feels collaborative respectful and in line with the individuals' goals.

I am a HCPC registered and BABCP-accredited practitioner committed to inclusive care. I believe that one's cultural identity is a profound strength, and I work to ensure therapy is a collaborative space where every part of you is welcome

I tailor my approach to the individuals unique presentations am registered with the below insurance companies.
