About me

Hi my name is Shem I'm a UKCP senior registered integrative psychotherapist. I offer counselling and psychotherapy both in person and online, providing a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences openly and honestly.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches and interventions, such as EMDR, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy and parts work. My work is tailored to meet your individual needs and my aim is to help you live a life that is guided by your own unique values, using these values as a compass for meaningful action, personal growth, psychological flexibility and lasting change.

Every person is unique, and I strive to meet each client with with respect, curiosity and compassion. Therapy can help you make sense of your inner world, develop a greater self - awareness and gain a deeper understanding of the thoughts, emotions and relationships.

As aspects of yourself that may have previously remained outdside of your awareness become clearer, you can develop a greater freedom and choice in how you relate to yourself, others and the challenges you face in everyday life.

Therapy is about making sense of your internal world and developing a greater self-awareness, allowing you to form more meaningful connections with your self and with others and as you become more open and aware of your patterns of thinking and feeling, what was implicit in you is nurtured to become more explicit, in this way you can then develop more choice and flexibility in how you relate to your self, others and the various situations in your life.

I have particular experience in working with:

  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Couples relationship therapy
  • Psychosexual related concerns
  • Relationship issues

I have been in working in private practice since 2012 and currently offer therapy from practices in Exeter and Central London, as well as sessions for clients online across the UK.

Please feel free to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation. I look forward to hearing from you.

If you would like to book a free initial 20 min phone consultation to discuss your requirements from therapy, please do get in touch.
