About me

Navigating life can be difficult. Sometimes we’re not even aware of how much energy we are putting into just getting through the day, that wading through treacle feeling taking everything we have to just get by. On top of this, the challenges and distressing experiences that can occur as part of life can all seem too much.

We may develop strategies to cope with what we find overwhelming, trying to find a way to bring peace and calm only to find that the behaviours associated with these can either limit how we live our lives or become destructive.  We can also begin to feel powerless to change these ways of coping that once seemed to work.

I offer a space to begin to explore and make sense of your experience and where it has brought you so that you begin to consider what change might look and feel like for you.

Finding yourself here is the first step on your journey towards self understanding and healing. If you are looking for non judgmental, empathic support while you explore and work towards understanding yourself and your process, and whilst also beginning to consider what letting go of the strategies that no longer serve you might look like, it would be my pleasure to accompany you.

At present I work with over 18yrs, individually, in sessions lasting 1 hour.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Integrative counsellor which means that I draw on understanding and techniques from different theories and ways of working. This means that we can find a way of working that both resonates with and makes sense to you. Mind, body, past and present along with the setting in which you find yourself will all be relevant to your journey of healing and self understanding. My practice is both Trauma informed and Neurodiversity informed and the pace of our work will be led by you.

I spent two years working for a charity which supports people looking to change their relationship with alcohol and in finding healthier ways to cope with the pressures that life can bring. This often included working towards increasing emotional understanding, experience and regulation, understanding and working with different forms of neurodiversity and working through historic traumatic events, in order to develop and explore who the client is and how they would like to live their lives.

I am registered with both COSCA as a counsellor member and BACP as a registered member.

I have also undertaken training in ASIST and am always participating in a variety of training and learning in the form of continuous professional development.
