About me
Welcome to Empowering Change Counselling Private Practice. My name is Shauna and I work with children, adults and couples. As an integrated counsellor, I tailor my approach to each client’s individual need and situation. I offer a range of support in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space. I focus on building a therapeutic relationship through respect and compassion to maximise the effectiveness of our work together. Working at the client’s pace is essential. My belief is that every individual has the capability of changing their situation/ thoughts and with a warm, supportive environment this is possible.
I offer counselling to children and young people from 8-17 years old. I have over 10 years of experience in working with children and young people with a range of difficulties, including family separation, grief, lack of confidence, low self-worth, anger, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-harm and eating disorders.
I hope to help you unlock your potential and belief in yourself by empowering you to make changes where you the client feel are necessary and which will improve your outlook on life. If you find yourself reading this and think I might be the right counsellor to help you navigate through your challenges, don't hesitate to reach out.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
