About me

Hello and welcome! My name is Shaun, and I’m an Integrative Transactional Analyst. As a therapist, I am dedicated to supporting individuals navigating and overcoming life’s challenges. My style is gentle, respectful, and deeply human—creating a safe, compassionate environment for us to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

Approach
I am trained in Transactional Analysis from an Integrative Perspective and use a relational, talking approach. Rather than focusing on behaviour, offering advice or judging what’s “wrong,” I believe in building a genuine, trusting relationship that allows you to feel safe, understood, and accepted—sometimes for the very first time. Together, we’ll explore the experiences, thoughts and feelings that may not have had space to be heard or understood before.

This style of therapy is compassionate and curious, not clinical or detached. Over time, it can help you feel more connected to yourself, more confident in your relationships, and better able to make choices that truly reflect who you are. Behaviour change becomes spontaneous.

Client Outcomes
Ultimately, my mission is to support you in becoming more fully yourself—emotionally, mentally, physically, and relationally. Our work together will help you:

  • Understand yourself more deeply—why you feel, think, or act the way you do, especially in relationships.
  • Develop self-compassion—moving away from guilt, blame, shame, or self-criticism.
  • Heal from past experiences—particularly where emotional needs were unmet or where past survival strategies no longer serve you.
  • Build healthier relationships—with clearer boundaries and deeper connections.
  • Experience safety in connection—especially if previous relationships were unsafe or neglectful.
  • Integrate different parts of yourself—reducing internal discomfort among the anxious, avoidant, or shut-down parts of self.
  • Live with more choice—rather than being stuck in old patterns.

Our therapeutic relationship aims to restore wholeness, so you can feel more grounded and free to live in alignment with your values and needs.

Background
I bring over nine years of experience working in the NHS as an A&E Nurse, giving me a unique perspective on mental health challenges and personal crises. These experiences deeply inform my work with individuals who have lived through or are still navigating traumatic or challenging circumstances. My background helps me understand how past experiences affect one’s sense of safety, identity, and connection, and how these experiences can manifest as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and even exacerbate the symptoms of ADHD.

Online Only
I primarily offer online therapy, making it a convenient and timely option for many clients across the UK. Online therapy is:

  • Affordable
  • Private
  • Safe
  • Provides a 'therapist near me', made accessible from anywhere you are.

If you have any questions about scheduling or fees, feel free to ask.

Personal Note
My background has consistently been in the helping professions, and I’ve always been fascinated by how people came to be. I love my work and find deep fulfilment in supporting people to discover who they were meant to be. A transformation that is yours to carry with you for a lifetime.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Initial Consultation

So we can get started, please send me an email with your contact information and a brief overview of your concerns. This will give you a chance to share your situation with me. I will respond as soon as I am able.

Once we agree on a suitable day and time for an online session, I will send an email including our contract and payment details. Please note that payment is required in advance of each session.

Our first session will be an opportunity for mutual assessment. During this time, I will get to know you better, including your current challenges and anything you wish to discuss or feel is important for me to know. I will also explain how we can work together and answer any questions you might have. Together, we’ll decide whether we’re a good fit to continue working collaboratively.
