About me
It is easy to lose touch with what makes you feel like you when life feels heavy or overwhelming. Whether you are navigating grief, a major life transition, or a period of profound uncertainty, my practice is dedicated to helping you move from simply enduring your days to truly inhabiting them.
As an MBACP-qualified counsellor, I bring together the structure of Transactional Analysis- to explore the 'why' behind your current challenges- with a committed Person-Centred approach. This allows us to look at your life with clarity while ensuring you always feel empowered in the driver's seat.
I chose this path because I care deeply about helping people move through their hardest moments. I am here to provide the steady, grounded support you need to navigate these transitions, helping you to clear the way toward a life that feels authentic, manageable, and vibrant once more
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a professionally qualified counsellor, having completed my clinical training at the Northern Guild in Newcastle, where I earned my Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. As a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP), I adhere to a strict ethical framework, ensuring a safe and confidential space for every client.
For over three years, I have served as a counsellor at Eden Valley Hospice. This experience has been foundational to my practice, providing me with deep expertise in supporting individuals through grief, bereavement, and life-limiting illness. Working within a hospice environment has uniquely equipped me to sit with clients in their most vulnerable moments, offering a compassionate, steady presence for those navigating profound loss, complex anxiety, or life-altering transitions.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
