About me
There are times when life can be stressful or there may be difficult situations where we find we are struggling to cope. I can provide a safe and confidential space, helping you to find more effective ways of dealing with life's challenges, and equipping you with the tools to do so.
I am a qualified, accredited Counsellor and Supervisor, and members of both the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and National Counselling Society (NCS). I work with people of various ages and lifestyles in a warm, respectful, non judgemental way. I have experience of generic counselling and welcome enquiries from people facing difficulties, no matter how big or small they feel their problems are. The first session is for you to discuss what is troubling you, how we might work together, and to see if I am the right person for you.
I work privately, and have experience working in NHS IAPT Psychological therapy services. This enables me to offer both short and long-term therapy to meet differing individual needs. I work as a person-centred counsellor and can draw upon other theoretical approaches if appropriate. I have a particular interest in working with bereavement, self-confidence, relationships and anxiety. I am passionate about the work I do, and feel privileged to provide a space to help you find your way.
I supervise trainee and qualified counsellors individually or in groups.
I am a partner in DS Counselling Training where it is a joy to be teaching the CPCAB Counselling Diploma to the next generation of counsellors and I find this very rewarding.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
