About me

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I hope I can be of help.

I have been delivering therapy for 16 years; working in a variety of settings with all age groups; including 3 years within the NHS IAPT services.

I believe that we all face difficulty's and some sort of loss during our lives, it may be loss of a relationship, a loved one, a job, a lifestyle, health, or even a loss of our sense of self.

It was my own past difficulty's that bought be into the world of counselling, and it has become very much my passion to accompany others through their journey, to help reach recovery, wellbeing and personal growth.

My ongoing studies have given me the education and many theatrical approaches to work with; but its my own life experiences that truly underpins and enhances my practice with advanced empathy.

My approach has been developed over the years, and is as unique to each individual I see, I adapt the work I do to meet the individual needs of each client, with an eclectic approach;  this meaning that no one is put in a box to fit one particular theory or approach, instead it's quiet the opposite, theory's, approaches and anything introduced is hand picked to fit  clients needs.

I offer short term solution focused therapy, and longer term open ended therapy, dependent on need.

I believe we are a whole being and what impacts our mental health also effects us physically, and visa versa; given this I work with mind, body and spirit.

As part of the therapy I provide, I  offer psychoeducation; this learning about and understanding mental health and well being, how our brain and body works and responds naturally to information, our experiences, environment and events.

I have specialised area training in trauma, childhood sexual abuse, domestic abuse and suicide prevention.

I also work with depression, anxiety, bereavement, post-natal depression, menopause, stress, work related issues, family and relationship issues, co-dependency, loss of identity, and any issue that may be causing concern or distress.

I welcome all cultures and communities, and offer a free initial introduction call.

I also offer a free follow up package if required.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
