About me
My name is Shane, and I am a qualified Gestalt Psychotherapist MSc and a Gestalt Psychotherapeutic counsellor a MBACP member and full UKCP member.
I run a private practice based in South London from South London Therapy Group in Peckham and at 119 Tunstall Road in Croydon for face-to-face sessions. I also offer online sessions via Zoom.
Sharing your thoughts and feelings with someone new can feel like stepping into the unknown—it’s natural to have questions like: How will this work? What should I say? Will I feel understood?
Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you’re returning to it, I’m here to offer a safe and supportive space where you can feel truly heard and valued.
Therapy is your space to explore, to heal, and to be yourself—free from judgment or pressure. It’s a journey of emotional discovery, one that becomes more comfortable and empowering when you know you’re fully seen, listened to, and understood.
I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to support you in uncovering parts of yourself that may feel hidden, forgotten, or out of reach.
As a trained Gestalt Counsellor, I focus on helping you build self-awareness—exploring the patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that shape your relationships and experiences. Through this awareness, we can work together to help you live more fully and authentically.
Alongside my private practice, I bring experience working in emergency services and with local mental health services and partner agencies. These roles have deepened my understanding of the challenges people face and the resilience they hold.
Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to support you with empathy, care, and an open heart.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trained psychotherapist and also hold a diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling. I am a full UKCP member and bound by BACP ethics.
For two years, I worked at Frontline Therapy, a therapy service that provides therapy for men and women from black and other minority backgrounds for many Issues. Before that, I worked for a year at Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy service.
Gestalt Therapy is all about focusing on your present-moment experience. While the past influences how you feel and respond today, our work together will gently explore how those experiences shape your life now. Over time, this process can help you better understand yourself and gain awareness of patterns that might be limiting your relationships or daily life.
In our sessions, we’ll focus on what you’re experiencing in the here and now—your thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the present moment. Together, we’ll explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion, helping you connect more fully with yourself.
My role is to support you in recognizing parts of yourself or your experiences that you might have been avoiding or pushing aside. By engaging more deeply with your emotions and sensations, you can gain powerful insights, make choices that truly align with your values, and move toward personal growth and greater fulfilment.
To support you in this journey, I create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you can freely explore and express yourself. This is your space to feel seen, understood, and accepted for who you are
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
