About me

A warm, non-judgmental space to explore what you're going through.

Taking the first step toward counselling takes a lot of courage, especially if life feels a bit overwhelming, exhausting, or stuck lately. Perhaps you are navigating daily anxiety, dealing with a painful relationship breakdown, or managing the heavy weight of work-related stress or bereavement. Whatever is happening for you right now, I provide a private, reliable space in Portsmouth where you can speak openly without any fear of judgment.

As a registered member of the BACP, my practice is grounded in humanistic, person-centred therapy. This simply means I see our work as a collaborative partnership, moving entirely at your pace. I don't offer direct advice, give assignments, or tell you what to do; instead, we work together as equals to help you process difficult emotions, reconnect with your own inner resources, and find your own clarity.

How we will work together:

  • Completely Client-Led: Our sessions belong entirely to you. We will only ever talk about what you feel comfortable bringing to the space, and there is never any pressure to share things before you are ready.
  • Noticing Patterns: While you direct the focus, my role is to listen deeply. Often as our work unfolds, I will be able to offer reflections on potential patterns or similarities between different situations and behavioural traits, helping you identify them and gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
  • Navigating Life's Pressures: I have a particular focus on helping individuals navigate the heavy impact that our environments and everyday structures have on our mental health—including the anxiety, exhaustion, and burnout caused by difficult workplace dynamics or complex conflicts within our relationships.

Finding the right fit
It is incredibly important that you find a therapist who feels like the right fit for you. To help with this, I offer a brief, free 15-minute introductory phone call. It’s just a gentle, informal chat for us to talk about what you're hoping to get from counselling, for you to ask any questions about how I work, and to see if we feel comfortable working together.
I offer sessions both online/remotely and face-to-face in a fully accessible, wheelchair-friendly space in Portsmouth.

If you would like to arrange an initial chat, please feel free to drop me a text, an email or leave a voice message and I will get back to you within 48 hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
