About me

Flexible face-to-face, online or telephone therapy sessions available. We will work with what feels right for you.

I am a counsellor and clinical supervisor.

I believe for human growth and happiness we need to thrive, be seen and heard. In therapy you will experience empathetic, non judgemental and confidential sessions where you feel safe to work through what brings you to counselling in a secure, safe and relaxing space.

I offer person centred therapy, CBT, NLP, EFT, trauma and Rewind Therapy. These can can delivered separately of integrated, the choice, in terms of the ways in which you want to work and what you want to focus on, is yours. I believe that we all know what’s best for ourselves and will help you discover your way forward. I offer a confidential and non judgemental counselling working within the BACP Ethical Framework.

You may well be aware that you are stuck or unhappy in some way and yet feel powerless to change. It may seem impossible to move forward, yet the idea of staying in the exact same position in life is equally traumatic. We will work collaboratively as you explore the issues causing you distress. Together we explore to find your answers … to find closure, resolution and a way forward.

Counselling can help you understand yourself, the way you think, which will ultimately help you develop a clearer understanding of your problems. My work is to journey with you, helping you connect with who you really are.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I understand that making the first appointment can be daunting. A free initial telephone coversation usually takes about 20 minutes and will give you a chance to see how comfortable you feel talking to me. It gives me a sense of whether or not I think I can support you at this time. We can explore what you would like to achieve in therapy. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

After this, we’ll usually agree to meet for an hour session, where we can cover what counselling involves and what you might expect from it and you can use the time to explore what brought you to counselling.

After that, for ongoing work, we will periodically review our work and progress. We'll meet at times which are flexible and convenient to you.
