About me

I am Sarah, a fully qualified integrative counsellor accredited by The National Counselling Society.

I offer affordable short and long-term counselling to adults and young people.

I am based in the Solihull area and provide counselling nationwide via telephone and video counselling sessions.

Am I the right therapist for you?

It takes courage to reach out for help and can feel quite daunting. You may be a little anxious or unsure you are doing the right thing.

I work in a down to earth, common sense, open and honest manner to help clients make sense of their life experiences.

I will support you to safely explore your thoughts,  feelings and experiences at your own pace.  I can help you to process the difficulties you face and work alongside you to achieve the changes you are looking for.

Integrative counselling is a combined approach to psychotherapy bringing together different elements of specific therapies.

I adapt the therapy to the client to meet their individual needs and preferences using a trauma-informed approach to client safety, healing and wellbeing.

Counselling appointments are 50 minutes long.  The first one will be to gain a detailed understanding of the support you are looking for.

Regular reviews of our work together make sure we are working in the areas that are most important to you.

Weekly sessions are most effective though I will be happy to discuss a plan that suits your schedule and budget.

Therapy costs can be a barrier to getting the help you want.  I reserve several sessions a week for reduced rates.  Please ask me if this applies to you.

Not sure whether to go ahead?

I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute initial video or telephone consultation.  Call or email me to make an appointment.

How counselling can help you

Counselling can be a highly rewarding experience producing positive changes.

I can support you in regaining your emotional balance, reducing stress and anxiety,  improving low mood and depression, overcoming loss,  healing trauma,  changing unhelpful patterns and behaviours, improving relationships and communication, managing anger, developing self-awareness, increasing self-confidence and learning to set boundaries.

I teach psychotherapy techniques that will support your well-being beyond the end of therapy.

How have I helped previous clients?

Whatever your experiences, beliefs or lifestyle, I can provide you with an opportunity to explore feelings and situations in a safe and confidential environment. I offer empathetic understanding without judgment to help you find answers to problems you face or come to terms with situations you are dealing with.

I have worked successfully with a broad range of client presentations including

  • anxiety and stress, (particularly social anxiety,  generalised anxiety disorder, school anxiety and work-related stress)
  • panic attacks
  • depression
  • low mood, feeling sad or stuck.
  • low self-worth and confidence
  • grief and loss
  • relationships and family issues
  • long term health conditions (particularly chronic fatigue/ME)
  • identity and sexuality
  • discrimination
  • anger management
  • autism traits and neurodiversity
  • trauma and PTSD
  • abuse
  • suicidal thoughts
  • self-harm
  • personal development.

Inclusive approach

Everyone is unique,  and so are their needs.   I tailor therapy to meet individual learning styles using creative approaches.

I can provide free resources for use in between sessions (including techniques to manage anxiety, panic attacks, and low mood,  and recordings of mindful meditations to support healing).
