Sarah Reed - Integrative Counsellor. MBACP; MSc
Sarah Reed offers one to one therapy sessions out of professional offices in the East Midlands where you can safely explore your inner thoughts, feelings and behaviours with a highly empathic counsellor.
There are many reasons for seeking out counselling or support with your mental health. Maybe you have experienced a life changing event or are processing the loss of someone or something very important to you. It could be that you want to work with aspects of your past or anticipate a change coming in your future that you want to be fully prepared for.
Sometimes people need support for something less tangible, possibly a sense that something isn't quite right with the way they are experiencing life, maybe struggling with low mood or anxiety, maybe struggling with difficult decisions or the way that the relationships around them don't seem to quite make sense.
Sarah has experience in providing both short and long term therapy and will work closely in line with your goals, using them to guide the therapy process. She will work with you to unpick the complexities of whatever circumstances you bring, to help you gain clarity and help you move forward in your life again.
You may be looking for help specifically with anxiety and panic, low mood or depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, work based issues, traumatic events or life circumstances from your recent or distant past, fertility problems or childlessness, feeling overwhelmed or not coping, managing illness in yourself or someone close to you or you maybe a survivor of sexual abuse and rape. Sarah has experience in all of these areas of work.
Sarah is an Integrative Counsellor which means that she works with a broad set of tools and techniques that she brings to her work rather than following one theoretical standpoint. She is trained to a MSc level in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and has a background as a physiotherapist and in human science, so is committed to working with theories and tools that have a strong evidence base. She has a management background across multiple sectors and has experience in coaching as well as counselling.
The therapies that she works with include: Person Centred Theory; Attachment Theory; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Compassionate Focussed Therapy (Advanced Training with Paul Gilbert); Body Psychotherapy for Trauma (Full Year Training with Babette Rothschild); Mindfulness Training.
Sarah is a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practices in accordance with their professional ethics and guidelines.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
