About me
I am a fully accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor and chartered psychologist. I provide one to one talking, play or arts-based therapy for children, adolescents and young adults.
When life feels overwhelming, it can be difficult to know where to turn. I provide a warm, supportive space to help untangle uncomfortable thoughts and emotions. Sometimes putting our feelings into words can feel too tough and a creative outlet can help. We can use clay, paint, crafts or sand tray to explore difficulties in a way that feels safe and playful. I also find talking therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) can be useful when we are feeling stuck and don’t know how to move forward.
In today's media saturated world, young people face huge amounts of pressure and stress. Feeling isolated and anxious can be too much to bear and talking with a trained therapist can make life more manageable. I work from an attachment perspective, understanding relationships as the foundation upon which we move through the world. I aim to build a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship that fosters resilience and helps you, or your child, face life with greater confidence. I have experience supporting individuals with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD, selective mutism, eating disorders, and trauma.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an accredited clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a chartered developmental psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and I adhere to the ethical standards of both. I am a qualified special needs teacher, have a PhD in developmental dyslexia and have been a lecturer in clinical psychology for 15 years.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
