About me
What if anxiety isn't the problem? What if it's survival?
Many people come to me looking for therapy because they're struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, emotional exhaustion or a constant feeling of being "on edge." They may have tried counselling before, understand why they feel the way they do, yet still find themselves stuck in the same patterns.
What if these aren't signs that you're broken? What if they're survival patterns, your nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do to keep you safe?
As a counsellor who specialisies in trauma, I've developed the Somatic, Person-Centred Method by bringing together person-centred therapy, nervous system science, somatic therapy and EMDR. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, we explore how your nervous system has adapted to life's experiences and gently create the conditions for lasting change.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, complex trauma, relational trauma, low self-worth, emotional overwhelm, people-pleasing, perfectionism, shutdown and disconnection. Many of these patterns begin as intelligent adaptations to difficult experiences or relationships. The problem isn't that they developed, it's that they often continue long after they're needed.
Whether you're living with the effects of childhood trauma, difficult relationships, a single traumatic event or years of chronic stress, therapy can help you understand yourself in a completely different way.
Alongside compassionate, relational therapy, I integrate practical nervous system strategies, somatic approaches and EMDR to help you build a greater sense of inner safety, emotional flexibility and connection with yourself. Clients often tell me this is the first time they've truly understood why they react the way they do, and more importantly, that change finally feels possible.
I'm an accredited psychotherapist based in Nantwich, Cheshire with easy access from neighbouring counties of Staffordshire and Shropshire. I have over a decade of experience specialising in trauma therapy, nervous system regulation and emotional wellbeing.
If you recognise yourself in what you've read here, the first step is an Assessment Session. This gives us up to 90 minutes to understand what's happening for you, explore the patterns your nervous system may be caught in and consider what kind of support would help you move forward. You don't need to know exactly what you need before getting in touch. Send me an enquiry and we can start there.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
