About me

Hi I'm Sarah, I'm a highly experienced counsellor who is trained in trauma focused therapies including EMDR and body psychotherapy.

I love helping people who've been through troubles in life and can't pretend they are OK any longer.

If you've come to that moment where you know you need help processing past experiences to feel better for your future then I have the knowledge and expertise to help.

With nearly a decade of experience as a qualified therapist, I have crafted my unique empathetic approach grounded in neuroscience and compassion.

My specialism is working with people who have experienced trauma and as a consequence experience anxiety and or depression. Examples of trauma could be things like:

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Rape
  • Witnessing domestic violence as a child
  • Death of a parent as a child
  • Alcoholic parent
  • Car crash
  • Combat

Going through these types of experiences can lead you to feeling:

  • Highly anxious
  • Very low (depressed)
  • Little energy and motivation for life
  • You need to overthink everything
  • You need a plan for every eventuality
  • The need to have routines and rituals (OCD behaviours)
  • Worried about food and eating
  • Horrible about your body
  • No confidence in yourself
  • Everything is your fault
  • Fearful of being criticised
  • The need to please others all the time

I am here to help you to stop carrying the heavy load of anxiety and depression. So you can feel free, light and excited by life again.

Sessions with me are gentle, informative and often fun. I take sessions at your pace and interweave all my knowledge and experience so you come away with long lasting tools and resources that work for you and your life.

I'm excited to start your counselling process with you and know that I'm always committed to my clients feeling better.

These are the ways you can work with me;

Individual sessions, including EMDR- £70ph (or for pre paid blocks of 3, £195).

Message me or book a call to see if I'm the right therapist for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
