About me

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” Carl Rogers

Finding the right words to share how we’re feeling can feel overwhelming even to our nearest and dearest.

I offer a safe, empathetic space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.

Relationships affect so many aspects of our lives and how we relate to not only others, but ourselves matters.

Sometimes we all need a little support to recognise unhealthy relationships whether that’s how we relate to ourselves (and think of ourselves) or why we may struggle in relationships with others at times.

Sometimes we can feel lost, confused, overwhelmed and anxious when we go through major upheavals in our lives or perhaps you just don’t feel yourself anymore and want to get back to feeling like you used to again.

Is now a good time to start counselling?

Any life event will impact you and put a strain on relationships and affect how you feel and behave and may leave you feeling vulnerable and that your options are limited. Counselling can help you reconnect with those things that are important to you and help you to start looking at things differently.

Whether you are experiencing difficulties or in distress, I can provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore what is troubling you in an empathetic way. Engaging in counselling sessions can help you by looking at alternative ways you can respond to others, manage your feelings, and make sense of what has happened, all of which can have a positive impact on your wellbeing and relationships.

Next steps

If you're looking for friendly and professional counselling support email me to arrange a free 15 minute initial meeting to see how counselling can help you and to answer any questions you might have. It gives you the opportunity to ensure you are happy working with me before committing to any further sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a BACP registered Counsellor and have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have undertaken additional training in working with Neurodivergence in the Counselling room and have clinical experience of working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, domestic abuse, divorce, bereavement, work-related stress, trauma and PTSD.

I believe you are the expert on yourself and work from a basis of person-centred therapy, integrating Attachment theory and Transactional Analysis where appropriate.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
